Here at the University of Chichester, we have established a reputation for sport, exercise and health-related research and have a proven track record of excellence in teaching, research and applied sport and exercise science.
Our suite of new MRes programmes allow you to learn from a team of internationally-recognised researchers as you focus on a specific research area within Sport.
Your MRes studies will focus on this specific area as you work towards a significant independent research project that acts as the culmination of your studies.
The Course

We offer a range of opportunities and ways of studying (full-time, & part-time) and inter-disciplinary research (such as dance science) can also be accommodated.
You will be able to undertake a supervised project across a range of research themes, including:
Enhancing Sport Performance
Researchers in this theme deliver research and consultancy to athletes, coaches, officials, sporting organisations and schools aimed at enhancing the performance, development and wellbeing of coaches, athletes and teachers.
Research Dissertation
The research dissertation element of the course will consist of a series of assessed tasks that support the production of a final journal article submission and conference presentation.
These may include: proposal, extended literature review, ethical review application, PhD or funding proposal and reflective log. These are intended to provide developmental experiences that will enhance your research skills.
Teaching and Assessment
Learn from experienced experts and specialists
The MRes degree programme aims to provide you with an outstanding learning experience in a supportive community of learning.
On application, you will be asked to provide an indication of their research topic and the methods that they will employ.
On the basis of this you will be assigned a supervisor (and second supervisor) who will guide you through the process of developing your research idea and will agree which taught elements will most support the delivery of the research programme.
